It was hoping to reduce this, sources said, by selling its Irish subsidiary, Pinewood Laboratories, and a stake in Habil Khorakiwala's privately-held Wockhardt Hospitals. A Wockhardt spokesperson declined comment. An e-mail sent on Tuesday to the chairman remained unanswered.
